Pantrywise is an offline-first pantry list. The app stores the food details you enter in local app storage on your device. Pantrywise does not operate an account system, analytics or advertising service, or a server that receives your pantry list. Async Storage does not encrypt the stored records itself. Your device's operating system may include app data in device backups when those features are enabled.
When you use Pantrywise, you may enter:
Food or household item names
Quantity and unit
Category
Best-before date
Whether you marked an item as used
A local record ID and the time the item was last changed
Pantrywise uses these details to show, search, sort, and update your pantry list and expiry indicators. The app does not ask you to provide an account, name, email address, precise location, contacts, photos, audio, or health information. Please do not enter passwords, payment information, or other sensitive details in item names.
Pantrywise saves your list in the app's local SQLite storage through React Native Async Storage. The app's own features do not send pantry records to the publisher, an analytics provider, or a Pantrywise server.
Device backup is controlled by the operating system and your settings. Android Auto Backup can include app databases when backup is enabled. Apple device backups can include app data when iCloud or computer backup is used. In those cases, the platform provider may store a backup copy under its own account, security, and privacy terms. Pantrywise does not operate or control those backups. Check your device's backup settings and the relevant platform privacy information if you do not want app data included in a backup.
The app does not include account sign-in, app-operated cloud sync, in-app messaging, advertising, analytics, or an app-operated backend in this version. This statement must be reviewed again if the app's dependencies or services change.
The publisher does not receive or share pantry details through the app's implemented features. If you enable device backups, Apple or Google may handle a backup copy as part of the operating system's backup service. Their handling is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Your current pantry list remains in app storage until you delete individual items in Pantrywise, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. The app has no publisher-side copy, account, or recovery service. A copy already included in an operating-system backup may remain until that backup is replaced or removed under the platform's controls. To remove a backup copy, use the backup-management options provided by your device platform.
Pantrywise uses the operating system's app storage area. Async Storage does not encrypt the app's stored values by itself. Protect your device with its available security controls, and do not use Pantrywise to store secrets or highly sensitive information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Pantrywise does not require an account or ask for a user's age. It is a general pantry organizer and is not designed to collect information about children. If you believe that information about a child has been sent to the publisher, contact us using the details below so we can review the request.
You can review, edit, or delete pantry items directly in the app. You may also contact the publisher with questions or a request relating to this policy. Because the publisher does not receive a copy of the pantry list, it cannot retrieve or delete records from your device or from an operating-system backup on your behalf.
If Pantrywise's data practices change, the publisher will update this policy and the app-store privacy disclosures before or when the change takes effect, as required. The current version and effective date will be available at the public policy URL in the app and store listings.
